Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions
What is somatic healing, and how is it different from traditional therapy?

Somatic healing integrates the mind and body, addressing physical and emotional patterns stored in the body. My approach is rooted in the STREAM framework, which examines four interconnected domains:

1. Biochemistry: Supporting overall health through balanced nutrition and internal systems.
2. Biomechanics: Assessing and adjusting posture, strength, flexibility, and alignment.
3. Emotions: Identifying and releasing emotional patterns that impact physical health.
4. Scar Tissue: Addressing fascial restrictions and adhesions to improve mobility, circulation, and sensation.

This comprehensive approach ensures that all aspects of your health are considered, often requiring adjustments in more than one domain to achieve lasting results. Somatic healing is also an active process—clients need to be ready to engage in their own healing journey rather than expecting to be “done to.”

Private Sessions
What does a session involve?
Each session is guided by your goals and needs. Sessions may include talk-based exploration, gentle hands-on bodywork, breathwork, and somatic practices. If hands-in work is part of the plan, we’ll discuss it thoroughly in advance, using models or diagrams to ensure clarity and comfort.
What is hands-in work, and how do you ensure comfort?
Hands-in work involves slow, gentle internal touch to assess and treat pelvic concerns or enhance wellness. It’s fully consensual, guided by clear communication, and never painful. Gloves are always worn, and clients may choose to use an internal condom for added comfort.
How many sessions will I need?

Healing takes time and commitment and it depends on your goals and the complexity of the issues you’re addressing. While most clients notice changes after even just one session, all benefit from ongoing work to achieve deeper transformation. That said, I ask new clients to commit to either a 6-hour or 12-hour package to start out, as it takes time to gain trust, to settle your nervous system, to agree on goals for the work and to commit to it. This allows me to conduct a thorough assessment, work on nervous system regulation, and begin gentle hands-on techniques with you. Over time, we may incorporate hands-in work if necessary. The pace and progression of sessions are tailored to your comfort and goals.

After your initial package you are welcome to buy individual sessions as your need arises.

Practicalities
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, I offer online sessions via Zoom, which are just as effective as in-person work for many clients. While in-person sessions allow for more direct biomechanical assessments, online sessions empower you to explore your body and learn techniques you can practice independently.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions canceled within 24 hours are forfeited unless you experience a documented medical emergency or hospitalization.
Are your sessions covered by insurance or HSAs?
Unfortunately, my services are not covered by insurance or health savings accounts at this time.
What types of pelvic symptoms do you address?
I work with a variety of pelvic health concerns, including:
  • Pelvic pain, vaginismus, vulvodynia, and painful intercourse.
  • Erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.
  • Sexual recovery after cancer, chemotherapy, or radiation.
  • Postpartum recovery and pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Peyronie’s disease and chronic prostatitis.
  • Scar tissue remediation and addressing numbness or discomfort.
In addition, Many clients also come to me for support with postpartum recovery, menstrual health, and reconnecting to pleasure after surgery or trauma.
Is pelvic massage painful?
No. Pelvic massage is gentle and respectful, guided by your comfort and your body’s responses. It is never painful, and we move slowly to ensure you feel safe and supported.
Can I benefit from pelvic work even if I don’t have symptoms?
Yes! Pelvic work can enhance overall wellness, deepen your connection to your body, and help you cultivate more pleasure and vitality. Many clients schedule sessions for regular “tune-ups” as part of their self-care routine.
Do you work with men?
Yes. I work with men seeking support for erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain, performance anxiety, prostate health, and expanded arousal techniques. My approach is tailored to their unique needs and goals.
Workshops and Courses
What’s the difference between workshops and courses?
Workshops are live, interactive sessions conducted online or in person, where participants engage in real-time learning and connection. Courses are on-demand video programs that you can complete at your own pace from the comfort of your home.
Are your workshops suitable for beginners?
Yes! My workshops are designed to be accessible, whether you’re new to these topics or looking to deepen your understanding. Each workshop creates a safe and supportive environment for learning and exploration.
Can I participate in a workshop if I’m single?
Absolutely. Many of my workshops are for individuals, though some are tailored to couples. If you’re unsure, check the specific workshop description or reach out for clarification.
